"I often get ideas on the way to a co-writing appointment. I say a prayer, try to lose the mind clutter, and open myself up to receiving what hits me as I drive. This was one of those on-the-way-there ideas that hit me complete with melody, a good start on words, and even a guitar lick idea. My co-writers often get a good laugh out of “the band in my head”, because I’ll sing the lyrics I have using my imaginary band – air guitar, white-girl beat box, and maybe some Sonny Bono-style keyboard playing if there’s one handy. This song came easy for us, and it shows my rock influence. Thanks to Willie for bringing the guitar lick to life with his Mack-magic!"
