Let Me Lead You (to the Son)

BIRTHDAY RELEASE!

It was fun writing a Bluegrass-style song with one of the Steel Drivers band members, Tammy Rogers King, and Tonya Lynette Stout.  Both as a writer and as a singer, I’ve always loved exploring different eras, styles and genres of songs.

I started adding Bluegrass to my “potpourri of playlists” after watching the movie “O Brother Where Art Thou”, starring George Clooney.  There’s just something down-home about it that feels like comfort food to me.  I loved this song and its message so much, I decided to give a go at recording it in the studio even though I’ve never personally performed Bluegrass music before.  It was a blast singing all the parts, because one of my favorite things to do as a vocalist is sing harmonies!

My favorite lyric lines of this song say it all:

Come as you are, to heal your broken heart.

He’s the One, the only One.
